Great. Just another thing we need; more distracted drivers trying to screw with the iPad to see what's around the corner and not paying attention to what is right in front of them. Screw seeing around the corner, how about a smart drone who automatically restocks your brew supply when you are running low? Or even getting drones set up so they can run some small errands for you instead of spending half a damn day driving around in local fucktard traffic just to get 2-3 things done.

These used to be called radio controlled helicopters...

Again, now that the yuppies have heard of them, everything changed. It's a fucking "drone" now. It's a damned toy helicopter, and they've been around for ages. People have been mounting cameras on them for ages.

All this drone talk is annoying.

As for that particular radio controlled toy helicopter, I can't imagine what you could possibly see within it's very limited range of operation that wouldn't be blatantly obvious from the driver seat.

There's also no fucking way those would ever be let on the roads.

Cheers,

Kennith

I was out flying my helicopter one day and the neighbor guy came up to me and was like "are you droning??" I was like wtf?

Using that "droning" term (first time I heard it here) is just about as retarded as "vaping." Not every damn new term has to be made into a verb and then put to wide use. :banghead:

It just sounds super douche baggy when someone asks, "Do you vape?" Wtf, over? How about, do you smoke those weird ass electronic cigarettes that you think are a better alternative to real tobacco?

Actually that pic is a photochop. Blades do not look like that in a real photo. That is CG -- pretty sure.

Not all of these things are toys. The media picked up on the drone term. Most people in the business use UAV. But if you have a real ground station as a controller, it could be called a UAS (unmanned aerial system vs vehicle).

There are RC Models = Toys. But by far my favorite is the hexakopter (from mikrokopter). I missed one for sale out east of Denver. I think they wanted 2200 for a complete operable surveillance system that is about $4k or more. Wouldn't work for my house, but sure would be fun.

That was uploaded 4 years ago and they have come a long way since then.

We've just started working with drones on photoshoots in place of helicopters. It's a lot cheaper & saves a lot of time too.
With a good pilot & camera operator you can get some amazing shots.

The last job was down in Cape Town. Here's production real for the drone team…… Skyhook.
They use an octocopter with over / under props and we were shooting with both a D800 & a 5D III.

A-Fucking-men! I hate those things. They look like they are smoking crack or something. If you going to smoke, smoke the real thing.
