Largest spare for LR3?

My new (to me) LR3 came with 265/65/18 tires but the spare is a donut. I'd like to have a matching spare but I don't know if a tire that size (~31.5" outside diameter) will fit in the recess below the cargo floor. Anyone using a spare in this size and can tell me if it fits in that space?

What is the stock tire size? I think that you may get away with about 1 size up from stock but not much more. For instance, if stock size is 255/60/18 you may be able to fit 260/60/18 or 255/65/18. That's the way it is on the LR4 - only room for stock size plus a few mm, nothing more. One option is to jam it up there un-inflated but that kind of defeats the purpose of a spare tire.

I think stock is 255/60/18, so this would be wider and taller, by more than just a little. I found a good deal on a matching spare wheel locally, so I'm going to give it a whirl. You are right about having a deflated spare. I have aired up my RRC and Disco's tires on occasion with a bike floor pump, which does the trick and is a good workout, but not a practical long term solution.

I’m running a 31” tire (255/60/19) and it fits but little room to spare. Had to deflate it a bit and really work to get it in there

Thanks. I think I'm going to give it a go. Weighing the two options, I think I'd rather deal with the challenges of cramming an oversize spare into that space than the challenges of driving on a donut that is much smaller than the rest of the tires.

The largest tire that fits - albeit very tightly - is LR4-stock 255/55R19.
To keep a tire jammed up deflated, and therefore out of round, for years, defeats the purpose as much as having an undersized spare. In the end, you can't drive very far on either.

Then how will I keep my waifish figure if I'm not inflating a 265/65/18 tire with one of these? I mean, how long could it take?

I have that size(265/65/18) under mine, mind you its got 15 psi in it. Also know that if you run the OEM hitch, the spare will not work, it's very annoying.
