Anyone noticed MJ was(is?) apparently a bit of a Rover fan?

He was driving a RRC during a segment on the baseball sabbatical.

In the 97-98 footage, he's driving a decked-out red P38.

You forget these farm trucks were creme-de-la-creme at one point in time 😄

Yeah, loved that, both as a Jordan and Rover fan. Posted them both to my IG and loved seeing them in their prime. Apparently that P38 was a pretty rare variant of the HSE....

when the NBA was fun to watch

I'm not a fan of the chuck-as-many-threes-as-you-can fad, but there are a lot of 82-73 type games in those early 90s clips.

Letting the defense play taekwondo did not exactly make for great basketball either...

I was a huge Magic fan as a kid during this era so was always rooting against MJ and the Bulls. It was great to look back on this and really appreciating how great the game was in the 90’s. I’ve lost interest over the years and even more as it trended toward just a few teams with all the talent

The NBA has always been this way.

Minneapolis Lakers won everything.

Then in the 60s the Celtics won everything.

The 70s had more parity, but the Knicks and Celtics each won twice.

The 80s was Lakers and Celtics.

90s was the bulls.

2000s was whoever had Shaq and the Spurs

I don’t disagree but the delta between top teams and rest of the pack is massive as of late. Even in the show they were routinely challenged by teams throughout the playoffs
