leaking around oil filter

Hey guys,

Been searching and haven't found anything that describes my issue. I have a oil leak from somewhere around the oil filter. The oil is literally dripping off the oil filter itself. I checked the seal for the oil filter thinking it was not on tight (no issue). Is there an o-ring that could be failing somewhere? I gave RAVE a cursory look and didn't see anything in particular that would be the issue. I recently replaced both oil cooling lines (new) and double checked them and they're NOT leaking so that's not the issue.

Thanks in advance for help!

Mine does this as well. Interested to see what others say. I've been using the short K&N oil filters but I doubt it makes a difference.

Check O ring for the Oil pressure sensor that sits right above the oil filter.
first.

Otherwise, it could be either somewhere along the front cover gasket on that side, could be oil filter neck/extension (had to throw it in there, not very likely though), could be from up high leaking down from the front of the valley pan gasket, or the valve cover.
.
.
Degrease the front of the motor, drive it a couple days, then check with a flashlight and mechanics mirror.

There is an o-ring/washer use on the oil pressure switch.

Remove the wire terminal on the oil pressure switch, and run the engine. Look to see if the oil is coming out where the spade terminal is molded to the oil pressure switch body. In the 18 years that I have had my 1995 RRC, this has happened twice.

There also is an o-ring on the plug for the oil pressure relief valve, in the front cover, above the oil filter. This plug is held in with a circle/e-ring.
