LR3 Honked at me and then keys stopped working

Howdy
Today I was giving my LR3 some much needed maintenance. When I was cleaning my throttle body out the car honked at me out of the blue twice. I then remembered I had left the OBD2 reader in the car after I had ran for faults since I had a transmission fault a week ago (of course it read nothing). Car was not on or keys in ignition fyi. So I pulled the reader and then I disconnected the negative because it honked again and continued on. After finishing up in the engine bay I shut the hood and went to lock it and my key fob did not work. I then tried my spare and it also did not work. Could the OBD2 reader have caused this or does anyone have any ideas? Also can a LR repair shop reprogram my keys? or do I have to get new ones? There no catching a break with these. You go to fix stuff but other things break when you do.

I would just treat it like 2 keys that don't work, as cool as that story was. Most of the time keys stop working it's a problem with the wires to the RF receiver attached to the headliner with Velcro. It's just to the left of the front sunroof opening.

It's got 3 wires. Battery feed, ground, and a signal wire. One or more of them is probably broken or partially broken at the base of the right B pillar. Keys still run the car right?

yes they run the ignition fine. would you happen to have a picture of were the wire is? Ive read its in the floor as well so Im a little confused

Then they are still programmed to the truck. They come down the B pillar on the right side. It's going to be taped into a big harness with 100 or more wires in it. Don't worry they are all different colors.

figured it out. did the hard reset and still didn't work so I just accept defeat but after letting it run with the key in the ignition it worked...im stumped but hey ill take it. I'm going to start a new thread about the new problem but since I have ya here discostew I had a fault code (P081C) popping up when I would shifted into drive. I took the shifter out and checked all the connections and they looked good so I checked the plug that goes into the transmission. when I pulled it out I noticed a little transmission fluid on the plug. cleaned it off, plugged it back in and it did not show the code going into drive again. My question, is it normal to have a oil on the inside of the plug? I recently had the fluid, filter and the black grommet changed on the transmission. thanks!

when it runs in the ignition it gets charges the battery in the key. it allso does a sinchronization.
