Has anyone removed the two rear resonators at the end of the two exhaust lines on the 5.0 V8 LR4 (model year 2013)? They hang down below my new rear bumper and I'd like to delete them. If anyone has any input on the resulting sound, I'd appreciate it. I wouldn't mind a bit more rumble...

There are some videos on youtube. I want the same, but I don't want any drone at all. I might end up just replacing the mufflers with some universal magnaflows, I've had very good luck doing that on other V8s.

I’ve held off because feedback indicates that our computer overlord will throw codes.

I was looking at them yesterday and thinking maybe I should just cleanly cut them off and see what happens. Could always have them welded back on if codes truly appear.

If people aren’t getting codes from removing the center one, I can’t see the rear ones throwing codes. Once your downstream of the cats it shouldn’t matter.

I would think changing out the rearmost ones would be the least dramatic, which is what I’d want.

I did some research today and saw everyone cutting out the center. You’re right on that the rears shouldn’t make a damn difference, especially if the center doesn’t. Off they will come. Need to find a couple “aiming down” tips to weld on once I cut them off.
