Our 2016’s rotary shifter will not move out of park. I’m assuming it’s a solenoid gone bad. I tried a hard rest by touching battery connectors together, no luck.

Any idea how to get it in Neutral so it can be loaded on a flatbed?

Remove the cup holder. There is a red strap under there. You'll need to loosen the screw and then pull the strap to the left.

Found in 10 seconds on google

Thanks. Found it too. Bigger problem now is the N is blinking and the dash warning says Gearbox in Park. For whatever reason the manual N isn’t fixing my problem. Battery is almost 6 years old, maybe too weak?

6 years old is old for a normal battery in a normal car. Thats probably 2 years too old for one of these electric monsters.

Yeah, makes sense. Of all the warnings, bells and whistles these things have, low battery would be helpful as opposed to stranding you. Lord help the new Defender crowd.

I would try a hard reset first. Disconnect the battery for a few min. Or take both cables off battery and touch them together. Hook it all back up and try it. Might get you rolling again for now

End result, rotary shifter shat the bed inside 85k miles. These new models are making it hard to admire.
