Now Chad, is name calling really necessary?! Anything to stay ahead of me on views....You're lucky I don't have feelings!

But that was a good bikini car wash! (I define "good" as "Chicks that should wear a bikini and are bad decision makers!") :applause:

And for the encore.....

After chasing a driveline noise, it was determined to be the rear pinion bearing. It had too much strain on it from the pinion angle. So, I got a new DC shaft made and changed some angles. I also had a saggy ass. So I added some spacers. While tinkering, I found my rear bump stops were trashed. Daystar Stingers are hot garbage...fyi. I have Fox for up front. But the budget is making me keep the Daystars out back for now.

I didn't know you had cones in the back? Thought you were retained or had that $G droop kit.

Yeah...I had an SG droop kit on there. It wouldn't stretch far enough for the 14" shocks. So I'm giving the reverse cones a try. So far, so good.

hey lunchbox what kind of noise did you have in the driveline? i rebuilt both my diffs when i regeared and ive got maybe a 1-2 degree out of line for the rear pinion angle and i have a pinion bearing type noise on decel. i do have a new tom woods dc driveshaft to put on but ive got rust to fix first. but that noise drove me crazy as everything was new.

Same noise you describe. It would grind on deceleration, especially at higher speeds. I could keep it from happening by watching where I was in the skinny pedal. I was running a standard shaft and the angle at the pinion was just too much for the bearing to handle. So I shortened the links to bring the pinion up and am running a DC shaft in the rear now. Are you running toyota thirds? From what I've been told, they are prone to this problem when that angle gets too steep.

That's encouraging to hear for sure. Yea I have the v6 in the rear. The damn truck has been in the garage for about a year now with rust fixes and installed the driveshaft and adjusting the rear trailing arms is on the "to do" list. Thanks for your help. And sweet rig by the way.
