I need to rebuild or repower my LWB. Not having much luck finding a serpentine belt timing cover with the appropriate hole for the dizzy and a good oil pump. I have a lead on a 4.0. Has anyone machined out the unfinished distributor boss in a GEMS timing cover and had success running a distributor? Thanks for any help.

I have a front cover from a 14cux, HRC1321B, got it form Marty and I'm not using. It has a Petronics Dizzy, brand new….

is the the front cover on your LWB shot? You could just swap it onto the new motor. You will need a crank spacer and a different cam to run the distributor on a 4.0. But otherwise you should be able to switch over your intake and front cover and use the 4.0 block.

If not I have a 3.9L with a front cover sitting in the garage that I've been wanting to find a home for. According to the person I got it from it's got around 105k on it and ran when he pulled it. One of the freeze plugs was missing so I'm not sure about the actual condition of the block. I just got it to use the front cover and intake to convert my 4.0 GEMS over to a 14CUX truck. But I've decided to go a different route.

Oil light came on a week after I purchased the truck. Pulled cover and the oil pump is out of spec. Double the clearance given by LR. My motor is out and torn down. The cam was wiped. Crank looks good but bearings need replacement.

Can't find any specs on the diamentions of the new gears. Would like to know if it's the gears or the housing that's worn. I suspect it's the housing.

My 94 has ( speaking of crazy things ) your standard v belt set up. If I was going to change it to a serpentine set up, now would be the time to do it.

Factory discovery? Is the radiator fan shroud different to fit a different location alternator?

My 94 Disco has a serpentine belt set up and is easier to work on. My 94 Classic LWB has a v belt set up. Less happy with that. Yes. Looking at the two of them, the fan shroud is different as well.
