Mobil 1 and oil leaks

I experienced more oil leaks with synthetics then when I use normal oil. Just my 2-cents. I do use Mobil-1 at every other oil change to keep the engine clean and did noticed that my filters
come out a lot dirtier when I first started using the full synthetic oil. As for performance my
Rover gives me the same performace with either oil. I plan to clean my oil pan and change the
seals here in the near future could you post more specifics like problems or tips, Oh and I've
heard about cleaning other parts of the oil systme once the pan is out could you point those
out if you know of any!!!!

I did the valve covers one saturday ( removed plenium with several hoses and pulled the covers) I found it dirty as expected cleaned them and because the gaskets were still plyable used some conventional gasket sealer on them and retorqued them) I also retorqued my exhaust manifolds. I ordered and got the permatex THE RIGHT STUFF which is pretty expensive and the next friday ran my truck up on my ramps and got to work.
I removed one side of the track rod and drained the oil. I then removed all the bolts and found I needed to raise the truck slightly to get the pan to clear. I did the by jacking on side of the frame slightly. I then cleaned the pan and engine with degreaser and scraper etc. put a 1/8" bead around the pan going around all the bolt holes and replaced and torqued the pan you have about 5 minutes before the sealer starts its chemical reaction. I finished by replacing the track rod with a new cotter key, put in oil and tested it.
THE RIGHT STUFF is the ticket it works
