I was introduced to these guys recently, via a CD received as a gift, along with a note instructing me to shut up and listen to it, regardless of what I might think ahead of time.

I still can't believe what I'm hearing. You've got to go through the entire story across the albums to feel the full impact, but it's worth it.

They've turned what was a simply told but interesting story, into an amazingly told incredible story.

For those who haven't looked it up, you're listening to an excerpt from the story of fucking Mega Man, as told by The Protomen. I'd never have believed it could be this powerful.

Cheers,

Kennith

Got my Yonder Mountain String Band with Ryan Bingham Variety Pandora Station playing on DirecTV right now, not a bad way to end the weekend.

Specifically digging this right now:

I've got to get rid of some of this damned mountain music...

I'm convinced you guys are going out of your way to dig it up.

I feel that if you're going to cover a song, you ought to do a better job than the original songwriter. I think Johnny Nash did that with his friend Bob Marley's "Guava Jelly" and I think Buddy Miller does it with his cover of Tom T. Hall's "That's How I Got To Memphis":

I agree. I can't stand the original Avicii version, but I really like Tebey's cover of 'Wake me up' It's just works so much better this way:

Original version for comparison:

The original suffers from an identity crisis in my opinion. What is it? Country? EDM? Something else?
