Well I guess we will start with my clean 1998 50th anniversary LSE in woodcote green, In hindsight I should have purchased a better with bad rover v8 knowing what I would do to her!

First up was to pull the perfect running 4.0 and swap in a Mercedes om603 sohc L6 diesel. This suited the truck well, gave me the clackity clackity noises of the CT trucks I grew to Love!

The next step in the quest for more power was an OM606 dohc 24v diesel, even being non turbo it made equal power to the om603, which by now suffered an unfortunate cracked cyl head.

Up next was a custom roof rack so it would start to look the part. This consisted of 1" round bar frame work and heavy duty 1/4" plate gutter risers/clamps, and cross bars made from left over heavy wall box tubing from the rock sliders i built.

Unfortunately after many years of trail rash the beautiful woodcote green was starting to show its age. So on went what I found to be the best match I could find for Sandglow.

You can also see she was now sporting a much taller stance, on Lexus LX570/200 series land cruiser TJM Australia heavy duty coils. The hood was taken from a D2, to help clear the crossover intake of the OM606

By now the factory range rover p38/50th anniversary wheels were not doing the looks any favors. But she was nearing the "look" i sought

The hood now received a matte finish, and a hi lift mount was added to the rack.

At this point the quest for a little more power resulted in the NA om606 receiving a manifold and turbo, water to air intercooler, and small increase in fueling on the injection pump. I would say it makes approx 200hp at the moment 20200805_085836.jpg

You can see now I sourced some series 3 steel wheels. And my son was helping me with the modification we were making to them 😁

Love the merc motor conversion! I have been watching your youtube videos. Did you get the adapter from SMT?
