So just got my SD rack Lin-Xed and really installing it for the first time with all the brackets and BOOM. Both drivers and pass doors slightly hit when I open and close them. Ive tried using the allen screw to raise the rack on the rain gutter and then install the bolts but to no avail. I currently have the allen bolt lined up on the frame between the drivers window and drivers side back seat window. Please help with any hints.......

Is it the spray? The clearance is pretty tight, but it will clear if you get it on there right -- unless the line-x stuff made that go away. I would try sanding that stuff off of the bottom of the brackets, then repainting with a thin coat of rattle can black.

Scraped all the lineX off the bottom of the bracket and she still hits. Pissing me off!! ANYONE has any ideas? ANYONE else with this problem? It hits on the top right hand corner of the drivers door.

I have my rack rhinolined and it never touched. Try putting some pieces of wood or washers inside the gutter to rasie the rack up some. Hope you get it figured out

Have you ever taken the inner frame of the door off? Id check and make sure that it is correctly in place inside the door. This will require you to remove the interior panel as well, but it could be the culprit. I know when my DII got hit on the passenger side and they put a new door on, they neglected to make sure the frame was correctly all the way down in place and it gave me some problems until I figured out what it was and resolved it. Good luck.

Side of the road....
I had a similar problem and it took me for ever too figure out what was going on. I eventually just loosened all the bolts and alternated tightening each side down. Problem solved. Hopefully your problem is this easy to fix.

X2 ;) spacers in the gutters brother! I'd suggest some delrin so you won't have to worry about rust.

Good luck,

Spacers in the gutter do NOt raise the height of the bracket, only the rack. The bracket catches underneath the rain gutter, therefore cant go any higher than the bottom of the rain gutter. There is no way to move up the bottom of the rain gutter.

Door hits the bracket not the rack.

Ok if you dont know......

Brackets cant be moved. You only have about a 1" play in the rack itself by the way it was designed.

Rack sits in the rain guttter
Brackets grabs under the rain gutter and bolts(x2) to rack itself
Allen bolt pulls bottom of rain gutter(this is the part the bracket grabs) up closer to rack.. its max out
Door is hitting the bottom of the bracket.

loosen the bolts up and snug it way down tight with allen screws...then snug down the stainless bolts.

it should mangle your gutter a bit or its just not a SD rack:D

it does. It def pulls up on the rain gutter when I torque the allen bolts, but they are torque as far as the can go. Still not enought.

Pass side I cut off the bottom of the line x off the bracket and it worked. Just not enough for the drivers side.

did they fit before you painted them? if you didnt try prior to paining, then all bets are off that they will EVER fit.

if they did fit before painting, um its the paint casue ing the problem.
