Ok, so maybe there will probably be no porn....per se.

I'm kind of excited in my fun parts to announce that I'm opening up my office & studio just south of the german village at 1332 S. 4th Street. Called The Luna Studio Columbus. It's between Hanford & Moler about 2 blocks off of High Street. I'll be open to the public about 4 days a week. My style is very modern, clean, Parsons-esque.

It's been a long time coming, so I'm tentatively going to have a big opening party Friday June 12th starting at 6:00pm. Then I'll be open all day Saturday. By party I mean free food and booze. You don't have to buy anything, but I do have some pretty cool stuff. My background is designing & building restaurants and a shit ton of retail. Since retail kinda shit the bed I've been branching out into other things.

Ok, so here are a few of the things that I will be doing out of this office/studio incase anyone cares:

- Architectural Design for home, retail, kitchens, exteriors, re-imaging, etc...
- I'm a general contractor & also have a retail implementation company
- I make my own really cool furniture, cabinets & fixtures which I will sell out of this
location. I have a bunch of other stuff like sinks and faucets which I sell for killer
prices.
- Featured art work by local artists. My first artist is the head of illustration at CCAD.
- I make concrete countertops
- Whatever else you need feel free to ask.

I'm excited, so feel free to be excited with me. If you're ever bored stop in and wake me up. It would be nice to see you.

Thanks Guys.

Paul, I don't know the last time you've been here, but I've lived here since late 2004. This town has changed so freaking much just in that short time. By main drag, you probably mean High Street. High street is incredible these days. Restaurants, art galleries, shops, condos, etc as far as the eye can see. It's very cool. Prior to here, I've lived in DC, Portland & Denver...I'll give a huge plug to Columbus. It's a great place. Stop by and visit some. We'll do it up.

The store is going to have some great things. As per the rover fab parts, there are definitely other people which have nailed that market. I'm trying to stay far away from the "commodity" market (for now). When you sell furniture as furniture, you are in the same market as Ikea or Target or Crate & Barrel....or whatever. But when you sell furniture as art, well that's a whole new ballgame. Paul isn't Jiffy Lube, and I'm not Lazyboy.

Anyway, I'm just excited to be doing my own thing and give it up to all the entrepreneurs out there. Working for "the man" just ain't my cup of tea anymore. I'm ready to be a big boy and have my own clients.

So are you an Architect or a designer?

Good question. I'm an architect, a GC and a certified master building inspector. However, I consider myself a pretty darn good designer too. But, I would rather build stuff than design it, always been that way. I've got 2 (industrial & interior) designers that work for me. In my opinion they are the best within 750 miles. The shit they do blows my mind. We've done projects together with some of the biggest names in retail in the US and abroad.

It takes such a looonnnggg time these days to get ahead in any architecture or design firm. I mean like you're 40 before you get to design anything but bathrooms. I'm very ADD and have no patience what-so-ever. I love to see my clients see their dreams fulfilled...quickly. So, I turned 30...saw the firm that I used to work for fold because of absolutely terrible management.

It's now time to do things the right way.........and my way :)

I was meaning there are a lot of "designers" poping up and advertising as Architect, just seeing if you really put in your time to be called an Architect. :D

Congrats!

Although I've never seen one in person I hear concrete countertops are sweet.

I'm renovating a house in Upper Arlington owned by 2 doctors. Awesome kitchen. We just installed the concrete countertops today. I'll post some pics tomorrow so you guys can see what I'm up to...

Thanks -

Joe

ill take the pbr. and if it had a "nice rack" why did you sell it? or is that like asking why you dumped your last girlfriend with a nice rack?:D
