My complaint about the Bronco would be the same as with the Defender. Computer screen on the dash, driving mode this, driving mode that. I don't want a vehicle that wheels for me. In that context the Grenadier would be more my style. That said yeah, Ford knocked it out of the park.

Agreed. So disappointed to see a row of computer screens across the dash. That shit won't age well. What's wrong with good old gauges, dials, and needles? And the stupid rotary driving mode dials suck. Give me my stubby gear lever to engage 4-high, 4-low, diff lock, etc. And that lame ass "not a step" label on the back of the middle cubby.....why not go ahead and reinforce it so it is a step? Still, I like it. Give me a 4-door with the rubber interior and 35's with those fender flares.

One more thing...the rear cargo room looks too jeepish. Put a cooler and backpack in there and you're pretty much full. We need a hell of a lot more room for family camping trips.

I think Ford hit it out of the park also. This truck will be huge blow to the Jeep market (and a death blow to Defender sales).

On the flip side...it's a little too "Tonka toy" for my taste. I'm going to hold out some hope that the Grenadier actually comes to market and is somewhat affordable.

IDK what the state of corporate espionage is, maybe people at Jeep knew more about the Bronco than some people at Ford did. If not I bet there were meetings called and email exchanged at Jeep HQ this morning.

Yep. Electronic this and that I really don’t want either yet at least with Ford the odds are they might work down the road. And if not, parts are relatively inexpensive.
I can’t wait. It actually is a vehicle I’m interested in buying

Based on the "ads" that I'm getting on my phone and internet, Jeep was ready for this. A lot of "original" and "legendary" being thrown around today.

I had almost talked myself into somewhat liking the new Defender and this makes me hate it all over again. Not that I needed it but all of talk from Magovern was bullshit. Realize the markets aren’t apples to apples but thi thing is square as a brick and is available with 16” wheels.

haha thought the same thing. This makes me hate the new fender even more...

Thinking about it. I watched a vid of the Bronco in testing and it had a "mode" that, in a hard turn braked the rear wheel on that side. Anyone who's driven a tractor with a split rear brake pedal knows what that can do for you and how handy that would be on the trails. So IDK, some shit would be handy. But rock mode, mud mode, downhill mode, fuck man just let me drive.

That would be pretty cool to create a pivot point like that. I miss turning radius with my 285/75/16s on my D2 with no spacers.

I took deeper dive into models today and really like what the Black Diamond offers (aside from its dumb name) - rear locker, steelies, sliders, steel front/rear bumpers, upgraded skid plates and two extra modes on terrain response at $6k over base. Depends on how sturdy the factory armor is but seems like good bang for the buck

It's based off the global Ranger chassis, but supposedly will have a much lower payload, so towing will be 3500lbs. It would be cool if they offered the 2.7L with the manual trans, currently is only available with the 2.3L. But having a manual trans option at all is pretty cool.

why on earth would you want a manual transmission in anything really drivable? So 80's and unmanageable.
