Just picked up a new to me 2011 LR4 HSE in Impenama Sand. One owner. Oil changes every 5k miles. All maintenance done. 95000 miles. Stoked! GAP llD ordered from Lucky 8!

First impressions as compared to my LX470 that will be sold next week.

It’s a tad louder than the LX
The stereo (not Logic 7) is a noticeable improvement over the LX.
The handling is tighter and ride is generally firmer although comparable to AHC in Sport mode. Less harsh though.
The seats are firmer and the leather is heavier (Windsor).
The engine is louder but not after you close the bonnet and doors! (Honestly the 4.7 in the LX is incredible how quiet it is).
It’s quicker to the point it feels nimble in comparison.
Let the build begin!

Love this car! Missed LR since my 2004 D2.

Nice grab! I really wanted an 06-07 LC100 but man oh man do people want insane money for them. That motor is an engineering marvel. Hopefully you'll get some good cash for yours.

That motor is an engineering marvel.

Yeah if the frame didn't give out on the GX, I think that thing woulda gone almost forever.

It had 270k when I got rid of it. The engine still quietly hummed, and oil was golden 1000 miles after an oil change.

I hate to rain of parades, but 5.0, right? Timing belt tensioner alert. It's a Ford motor and it has issues.
Make sure the tranny has been serviced or get it done A.S.A.P., like this Sunday....Monday latest.
I was told it's the same size as the LR3, but I don't believe it. It's gotta' be bigger.

As far as a build for the LR4, there is a gender female (come on, man) LR club on the Left Coast that does a race from Carson City to Las Vegas on desert backroads. I've seen a couple of their rigs and they are awesome. (Except for all the pink script thanking the sponsors). Mostly LR4s, I think. The article was either in one of the Rovers North mags or Alloy and Grit mags from last year.

Yeah well aware of the tensioner issues. Oil changes that have been done every 5k since new should help that. Whatever. I’ll cross that bridge if I come to it. The tranny was replaced already.

Pretty sure the 5.0 is a Jag motor, designed by Tata/JLR, but built in a Ford plant. Which explains all the fomoco markings on it. It might share some accessories with the coyote.

Trans is a ZF 6HP. Pretty stout ubiquitous auto trans in euro applications.
