I inherited a 66 Series 2a 5 door. Needs a frame, some serious TLC but the body is descent. Got some tune up stuff and will try to fire it up later today after dinner. As soon as the P38 is done and out of the garage, this one rolls in and let the fun begin! :banghead:

Got it. It checked ok....so I picked up the tune up parts. Going to try and make it fire up today. Took me forever to find my feeler gauges. Now Enon...do I have to enter a code to sync anything....or just go for it?

Alrtighty....picked up the "tune up" parts, and had some time to kill. I got everything installed, point gap set (dam, its been 25+ years), and some 50/50 in the radiator. Jumped to the existing battery...NADA. Put in a different battery and turned on the switch. Rolled the motor over a dozen or so times, and hooked up the coil. Rolled her over a couple more time and she started right up!
Let her run for about an hour, or till the gas ran out of the temp tank I made. The generator is cooked. The wiper motors are frozen. All the lights work just fine, including the KCs on the bumper. Did some inventory on the interior, and found an old registration, and a military traffic citation all dated '96, and one of the POs address in Gordonsville, VA.
Being that the brakes are shot and the rear gas tank is being held in by a ratchet strap, I figured that driving around the hood was not an option at this time.
I spent the rest of the afternoon making wish lists of part I want, and the stuff actually needed. But I digress....first things first....Santa, I need a frame!

Starting to assemble parts and pieces. If all goes as planned, the series SHOULD be in the shop by Jan 1.
At least I have a plan.....maybe not a good one....but a plan.

getting a barn find going can be fun. last year we found one sitting for ten years with a seized motor and clutch. we were able to break both free. replaced all the hydraulics and it was good to go. ran and drove great.

Well.....the deeper I get into this, the more I am realizing this was a wrong move for me. That being said, I have sold the Series, and purchased a Defender 110 with a NA diesel. This one is a "running restoration". I just don't feel I could have done the Series restore justice. It has a good home and will live on.
Thanks to all for the support, just changing venues as it where.
