those got linked in the other yeti cooler thread. Looks like a china knockoff of the yeti. I would buy that instead if I had it to do over again. Cause after all the yeti I have is probably about $100 worth of cooler and $145 worth of cool.

At the price of these Tacticool coolers these days it makes more sense than ever to get a fridge. My Engel 45 is 10 years old and going strong.

So is mine. :D

Nothing wrong with buying something nice, and I suppose a cooler makes more sense for just moving things around a lot, but if it's staying in the vehicle, at the camp-site, on a tailgate, or meant to be used during power outages...

Honestly, something like an Engel is far superior in those conditions.

Cheers,

Kennith

People on expo were saying November now IIRC. You can also check out Bison Coolers and Canyon Coolers... Both made in the USA and cheaper than Yeti.

After looking at the linked coolers, I think Yeti could have a legitimate gripe against that manufacturer. That's absolutely shameless.

Serves them right jacking up the price of the shit. I see a huge differance in the coolers. Look under the lid. It clearly does not say yetti. I think thats Chinese for "Fuck You Yetti"

That's kinda how I feel. Sell your product at a reasonable price and it won't be profitable for others to duplicate and sell. By overpricing your product an exorbitant amount there is plenty of room left for knockoffs to be made and sold and still realize a profit.
Its just like Rigid LED's. Very expensive and there are knockoffs all over the place.
People will still buy Yeti, but they won't have the market cornered anymore.

If I wanted a bulky heavy-ass cooler I'd buy the one linked, not a Yeti.

Buy more stuff from China. It's the American way. These coolers are coming soon to a Wal-Mart near you.

I don't mind paying a little more for a "Made in the USA" product, however paying double is a bit much.

Some products are USA made and are affordable and don't have knockoffs being made. Other products are USA made and are ridiculously priced and have knockoffs being made.

The biggest gripe I have(other than price) with these coolers is that you're looking at 23lbs for a cooler that really isn't that big(45qt). Add a bag of ice and you're at 30lbs before you even add food or beer. I don't need to bust a nut lifting my cooler around camp.

China ripoff from the Philippines? That's a first.

For fucks sake.

Yeti coolers (the majority) are made and manufactured in the Philippines.

If you own a Yeti you can tell if it was manufactured in the US by a sticker you'll find on the side. If you don't see one you have a filipino product.

I have an ORCA 58 and it is great! I also have their 28oz tumbler and a Yeti 20 oz. Did a direct comparison on the cups and they both held ice for +36 hours at room temperature. The ice in both melted before the 48 hour mark. It was really nice having that while riding the trails at URE, Yeti 20oz filled with coffee, Orca cup filled with ice... lasted all day.

IIRC they are made in Tennessee. Was slightly cheaper than a YETI but i bought through a friends tactical shop to help him fulfill the initial buy in. I'm a fan of both but I'd rather buy American if given the chance.

What pisses you off more. The fact that we don't understand? Or the fact that we don't care? Chinese 6 yr old kids making it , Philippine kids. What ever. Chinees kids probably work for cigarettes .

That's where you're wrong, I don't give a shit what cooler people buy. I get good chuckles over 2 sides talking about whether to buy a filipino cooler for $399 or a Chinese Cooler for $149. It sounds fucking ridiculous. Carry on.
