You couldn't access the ABS without the WABCO diagnostic box until GEMS engine management . I would have to look up how all that worked to be honest. That was a long time ago. I see the old WABCO thing all the time when I move it to get at something relevant. I can post up a few pics of the thing if your really interested.

I know how to do the ABS blink whether it’s gems or other. But like I said, my buddy wants to get a comprehensive diagnostic scanner that will also have ABS capability.

Good luck with that. If someone could have done that when it was relevant they would have. Now I'm afraid your buddy and a few of us are the only ones who would even be interested. But really for how much I would actually use the thing I don't think I would buy one. On this old stuff it's come down to a schematic and a scope, a good meter until you need the scope. I'm looking at the Black Box Solutions stuff. I'm also trying to get a working T4. I just don't think I would use the stuff enough to make it worth a lot of money.

He’s a diehard rover guy and has built some pretty impressive rovers. He may get a T4 handheld setup but I thought I would ask if there are any other alternatives.

Let me look into that. I’ve never been very impressed with the thing. If it will help you I have no problem loaning it to you. I really use it for a code reader and then I grab my Fluke or a Picoscope.

will it pair gems era key fobs?
I’m almost certain it will.

If you have a fob that’s not gettin recognized by the truck, there’s a sequence to re-synchronize it. Something like push the fob unlock button five times relatively quickly followed by the lock button once. I’d need to double check that.

Have you ever used it? It's functionality has been less than impressive. When it was new it wasn't great.
