The question is actually about my classic. Would LOVE to have an ultraguage on it. Does anyone have experience with an obd 1 to obd2 adapter cable?
If you're asking whether you can offer an inspector a cable and datalink in lieu of tailpipe check, I seriously doubt it. In California, MY 2000 and later vehicles are not subjected to tailpipe test, but... every test station has a tailpipe tester, and the cost is the same even if the amount of work is different. Is there any chance that $40 cable and phone link would work for an emissions inspection? I still need to do the tailpipe check in PA on my 95 D1, but it's getting both expensive and hard to find garages that can still do it. Thanks!
Super cool.I started to throw this together a long time ago. Didnt make it too far off the breadboard but it mostly worked so your idea is possible, and has been done.
talked 14cux on one side, ISO OBD2 on the other. Got modes 00 and 01 with plans for 03 and 04 by mapping the 14cux code to P10XX. Got busy with other stuff, lost interest.
Why do you need ultragauge? Buy a $40 cable and install Rovergauge on your phone.
yes, it works fine on an Android phone.does rovergauge work with a phone? The main reason I started this project is because I don't want to lug a laptop around with me on vacation.
Yeah. They like the red, blinky thingy on the dash. "Doesn't it always do that when the car's running?".......
That Bling tho. lol
