Ok We are Now Offering Parts

I have joined P.T SCHRAM repair Rover repair

We are now offering land rover service parts for all Dscowebbers at a "group buy" type pricing. For the most part, these will be aftermarket, but are only those that have passed muster and that we have personal experience with. If we are able to be competitive, we will offer OEM parts where appropriate. In the event we can't find an acceptable aftermarket part, we'll tell you.

We currently are only accepting credit cards through pay pal, but will have a dedicated credit card account by the end of next week (the credit card company dude is coming in to talk to us on Friday and I've forced PT to spend his hard-earned dollars!).

In the near future, we will begin directly importing parts from UK manufacturers (PT's wife's company finally realized we were serious and has given us the blessing to become their US distribution partner for Land Rover parts. We are in negotiations with other UK manufacturers to become their central US stocking distributor. Due to our central US location, we have the ability to ship quickly to both coasts and throughout the rest of the US.

We do not intend to sell used parts. Will and Marty have that well in hand and far be it from me to try to muscle in on their business.

Now comes the cap in hand part-we need help determining what parts you guys are having difficulty finding, or that you need on a regular and recurring basis.

We'll also have periodic specials on "the part of the month", something PT has been working on for several years.

For the time being, please contact us using the shop phone of 260-804-0458. PT's too fawking cheap to get me a separate phone line until the ball is rolling:D -or check out our website. The website (www.btlrovers.com) will be a continuously evolving entity as well. e-mails can be sent to sales@btlrovers.com as well.

We are proud to be a part of the Discoweb community and support the site through monetary contributions and sometimes helpful technical assistance.

Cheers,

As I highlighted on the Financial Armageddon thread, shipping rates have cratered.

To get a feel I'll reference: EU Referendum post titled No port in a storm. In the comments section is the following:

"I had a remarkable (even allowing for the punch's influence) conversation over Christmas Eve drinks with a fellow in shipping litigation. His Autumn, unlike almost everyone else's, has been fabulous. The world's oceans are clogged with underused boats. A bulk ore carrier which would have cost you $200,000 a day three years ago, can now be booked for $4,000 a day. Cancelled orders and broken deals are everywhere - hence his smile. Many ships were ordered five years ago on the back of the boom, and now have nothing to carry. He told of an export facility in China which didn't exist five years ago and now has returned, after a frantic few years, to complete idleness."

Containers from the U.K. should be REAL cheap about now. Might want to think a little bit bigger than seat covers. :D

The Lou!
Friggin window regulators with invincible plastic wheels that don't self-destruct. Hmmm, an exchange program where you guys repair with steel washers/rollers would be a good idea too if it was enough of a money maker to be worthwhile.

Any Matt Savage parts

I'll see if we can swing anything with regard to this, but, many of the UK retailers refuse to ship to the US for fears of litigation. Fortunately, the bigger players, like the manufacturers and the warehousing companies apparently think they have big enough pockets to afford to do business with us. Matt Savage was one fo the companies that was quite outspoken in their refusal to ship to the US-particularly with respect to buying wheels.

I would reiterate what Mike said here (belts, hubs, idler pulleys, etc.). The idler pulley on the driver side of the DII is EXPENSIVE for some reason. Passenger side idler pulley is 1/4 of that cost. Not sure why. Also, tensioner pulley separate from tensioner itself is something to offer.

Also off the top of my head:

DII lug nuts (with and without cap); wheels (steel or otherwise) at a reasonable price; DII washer bottle relocation kit for those planning on aftermarket front bumpers; sliders; diff guards; brass diff plugs; gasket kits; fan clutch's; block heaters; oxygen sensors; seat heater elements; water pumps; etc.
