And last but maybe least.....

2002 Land Rover Discovery 2 - $1,850

The light bar on the grill held down by the cable ties is a free upgrade.

Mechanically that 2004 looks like it was nicely done. A lot of extra fluff on it though...the beaver shovel is the best part.

And yet no pictures of the frame.
I was going to reply along the lines of, it would take a special kind of stupid to put that kind of time and money into a Disco with a compromised frame/body. Before I did I looked up the number provided. It belongs to a company named Atlanta On Wheels. Seems they restore Discos mostly (surprise). Their ratings are odd. Either 5 stars or 1/2, nothing in between. Vehicles are either perfect or POS.

I bought my modified 2001 D2 SE w/ 72K miles from Atlanta On Wheels back in 2016 for $7K.
They used to have great prices and service for the Land Rovers they modified to sell. I used to stop by their garage office, drink beer and tell stories of being stationed in England and the many LR 4x4 shows I went to back in the early 2000’s.
I don’t know what the hell happened with them now.

I'm not sure if this is the right place for it or not (sorry, I'm new here!), but here's a Land Rover Discovery 1 I've been looking at locally. I've been lurking around the forums and reading stuff about LRs, and feel encouraged to get one. Would anybody be able to advise me on how good or terrible this might be?

Obviously it needs some work (this would not be my DD by any means). As far as I understand, it has ABS issues which are either easy or difficult to fix, and has some oil leaks which possibly points to external head gasket leakage. Then, there are some wear items like front seats and controls. Overall, though, it seems to be in sound shape without rust (or at least according to the seller). I think that it would make a good project vehicle and a great off-road / adventure rig. I've worked a fair amount on cars and feel reasonably mechanically inclined.

I'm by no means an expert on any of this stuff, so I would highly appreciate any input that people on these forums might have!

There could be multiple leak points, but the main source could be as simple as valve cover gaskets.
