I saw these 35x10.5 the other day and have been thinking about fitting 17" rims to try them out. Anyone have experience?

"The internetz" reviews are favorable but the fact I can only find them at WalMart and other random places is not too promising.

that’s a bit of a red flag right there.

TOTALLY Agreed, but they are the Goldilocks size I have been seeking. Wondering if being on 17" steelies will make future other size tire selection easier as well. Was also considering 5x120->5x5 hub adapters so I could run the multitude of rims made for Jeeps (and share spares, etc. if needed on the trail).

Google is your friend (sometimes) -

Cribed from the Aussie LRO site and another snap from Paddocks U.K.:

If you really want 17's, here you go - but for RRC/D1/Defender only

I did see that post and it surprised me that it mentioned body lift only to get to that size. (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-2-a/126274-d2-wheel-options.html)

I found these 17s in my bolt pattern and was thinking about them but the cost is nearly the same as getting two sets of adapters and some cheap 5x5s: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B019XBTR7I/

I got my rover for 1k and have put ~1k into doing usability work myself (Coolant/Oil leaks/Door Actuators, etc.). Headed toward lockers/gears, etc. next. Not too worried about doing some chopping for a fun-only rig :D

I only do moderate off roading (no rock climbing or mudding) and I drive about 95% on the road, so my opinion might not count here. I bought Hankook Dynapro AT-Ms all around. I have the stock wheels and was having trouble finding tires in the 255/55R18 size, so I sized up to 255/60 and found a lot more available. Four of the above-mentioned shipped to my door for $650. They have been really, really good all-around tires. Very smooth, quiet ride and just aggressive enough to be useful off road. These are not hard core off roaders, but they are very good all around and seem to wear fairly slowly.

Just got these installed. Milestar Patagonia M/T's 315/75/16. Made by Cooper. Haven't had a chance to try them out yet, but got them after I saw the Lite Brite review on you tube, and saw what they put them through. Same price as Nankang's but more modern tread pattern. All sizes available.

It is 3in RTE springs with 1in spacers. RTE links F/R and Bilstein 7100's, it also has a 1.4 high range transfer case with Salisbury rear axle. I also raised the flares all the way up to the style line, really opened up the arches. Had to trim front bumper, both ends of the sliders and the rear bumper to make sure everything clears. CO rocks can get pretty big.
