wow, this looks exactly like the same commercial warehouse area in Huntington Beach, California where we had an office for 13 years, near Bolsa Chica...I have the same LR Discovery with SD RR and 2"OME SL, small world.....definitely miss surfing in HB and living there.....many good memories!
I just returned from a week in Huntington Beach as it served as our base for a Disney adventure. Choosing Huntington Beach was on a whim and primarily for a pet friendly VRBO rental. What a really cool place!
Im in Costa Mesa so just one town away from Huntington!

The Saudi Grille looked a bit spare without the LR emblem so I threw an aluminum one on from Series Defender Outfitters. Much better.

Next up, figuring out what the clunk under the driver's foot-well is and relocating the steering damper so it's not dragging on obstacles.

Surprised I didn't notice earlier, but my D1 doesn't have a front crossmember anymore.

I'm replacing it with one that @special ed is making. Its got thicker tubing than OEM, but a smaller overall diameter. Really nice piece.

Snagged some seats from the local LKQ this weekend, along with a new center console lid. Quite a score for a junkyard vehicle since they don't have any rips, tears, stains on the fabric! Now just needs a good cleaning.

And the lid (old on top, new on bottom)

I also threw on the new Safari Gard bumper this weekend. Was lucky enough to snag a customer return a few months ago, but i've got to be honest, the quality is not the same as the old version. For one, there is a ton of splatter all over the bumper and the welds aren't filed down for a clean look. Moreover, the bumper rides up the side of the truck, ruining the paint on the driver side - doesn't have this problem on the passenger side. Since it attaches to the frame, there is no lateral adjustment so to me this means the bumper should have been built a little better.

To be fair, it was from their first batch, but I think the tweaks they made to allow this bumper to fit both the D1 and D2 may have affected how cleanly it fits.

Looks good though...

I've got a pair of GBR 3.9 third members with TrueTracs front and rear ready to install this month. It doesn't look too difficult, but would appreciate some advice from somebody that's done it before...

Others may disagree, but I have found a stubby impact and the prop shaft tool make the job a lot easier. Obviously, the front is much more involved thanks to the CVs/stub axles. Cleaning the RTV off the third member mating surfaces is the worst part! I have had decent luck with a wire wheel and plastic scraper for the base of the carrier assemble studs. Changing the third members is also a good time to take a look at the health of the drive flanges, wheel bearings, and hub seals. Beware the "while you're here" jobs associated with this effort!

Thanks man! I've done the bearings, hub seals, and all so I shouldn't have too much to do under there. For the front axle, what's the best way to pull the axles out since I don't need to go through the hub and don't want to replace the one-shot grease. Should I just unbolt the whole hub from the back?

I think you're 100% correct on the path forward. It would be a great time to refresh the swivel ball and stub to carrier seals. In fact, this job is up next on my truck!

This video describes the simple process.
