I am parting out what is left of a 1996 D1.

You can see photos of it here: https://discoweb.org/index.php?threads/1996-black-d1-5-speed.97856/

I bought it from the guy that posted it there.

The interior is pretty well picked over and gone but some odds and ends are left.

I’m keeping the 5 speed specific parts.

The axles have had 3 of 4 shafts removed. One is sitting loose in the cargo area. They roll just fine.

The 4.0 is really hard to turn over with the breaker bar on the crank bolt. It does turn easily 2 or 3 inches in either direction and then there is a lot of resistance. The 2 or 3 inches are noisey as well. Maybe a spun rod bearing? Was advertised as running when parked a few years ago. I dunno? That is all I really know about it.

Doors and fenders are in good condition. All the glass is there.

I don‘t really want to ship anything large. I am in St. Louis, Missouri

On the cluster bezel, sorry, I don’t have one. Those are a bit hard to come by. On the seat controls, I have a pair but haven’t tested them. Unless yours are physically broken, you can take them apart and clean the contacts inside which makes them work like new again. Search youtube as there is a good video explaining the process. If you want the 2 I have, I’d take $110 shipped. However, I’d bet they need the contacts cleaned as well.

I have cleaned the contacts on mine, the plastic plate is busted, so keeping them in place is impossible. I have a wood screw system rigged up, but looking to get back to a normal fit.

Thanks!

passenger door map pocket (beige)? to 10023?
Sorry, no go there. Also, it is just about to head to the metal recycler.

It has a full set of D1 steelies that will be available as soon as I drop it off. However, I’m debating keeping them for “someday.”

Also, I know some of you may have considered buying this... be glad you didn’t

It ended up not such a good buy. The reason the engine would not turnover is the gearbox is locked up. Considering I bought it for the gearbox... Well, at least I got the pedal box and some needed gearbox ancillaries.
