PCV cleaning or replacement

On the D2, it is a simple 2 hose and a weird nipple system. You can either replace the components, or shoot some carb cleaner down the hoses until they run clean, and take an old toothbrush to the nipple itself with some more carb cleaner.

Any thoughts or comments?

It's not the hoses themselves, you need to clean the "nipple" pretty good up and in, not just a toothbrush but a bottle brush down the nipple horizontly and down the other pipe verticaly. See if your tubes are hard. Replace if they are. Do this simple fix in conjuction with cleaning your intake and the Iacv. Check intake for grime, especially oil from the iacv. Clean your butterfly.

Was replacing injectors last night and almost replaced the valve cover gaskets and the PVC plastic thing. Didn't feel like having to remove some coolant pipes and the ac pump to do it so I'll just leak oil. Another dumb BMW THOR BS situation. Take an easy job and add massive coolant loss to it.

unless you remove the valve covers, remove the baffle plates, and clean/wire brush the built up carbon just cleaning the hoses and the 'oil separator' does not do much for you.

remove the oil separator and replace. oil separator

To be that close and not replace those VC gaskets doesn't make sense to me. The amount of extra work is minimal.

Cleaned the throttle body. CNC Throttle Body Cleaner with a rag and some Q-tips did a good job. Do this job when the engine is cold.

When the VC gaskets need replacing, I will work on the PVC then. Thanks for your support and ideas.
