Newbie here, amateur, making huge blunders, looking for help.

X summary: looking for a picture of the throttle cable attachments to the air intake for a '97 D1 GEMS engine. One spring sprung (the one closest to the intake), and the bracket came apart.

D1, trying to get it running after it's been sitting for several years. 125k. Hard to start, but once started, ran nicely two years ago. Trying to get it ready to sell. Starting reliably is the last main thing.

Trying to clean the air intake, I disconnected several things, including the heater thingy from the underside of the throttle. Didn't know those were coolant lines. I did find a recent thread with information about that, and I'm kinda disappointed I messed with it because it was dry. Though it was sitting.

Was also going to get to cleaning hose connections and replacing the gaskets for the valve rocker covers, thinking that may be contributing to the hard-to-start issue, but I think I need to address throttle and air intake heater first.

Anyone have a pic of the bracket and throttle cable connections? I did take a pic of the hoses and electrical connections, but they're more toward the front of the compartment. I thought the throttle bracket would come off IN ONE PIECE and STAY that way, and I didn't get a pic with enough detail to see how to re-assemble the bracket.

Go on line and find a down loadable copy of the Land Rover "RAVE" Manual, it's a shop manual for multiple Land Rovers and usually free. I don't think valve cover gaskets are going to cause hard starting anymore than the throttle body heater. Spark plug wires, spark plugs, fuel injectors, fuel pump; are where you should be looking first ( there are other things like the Crank Position Sensor, etc.). Try to borrow (or buy) a Code Reader, it will save time and money in the long run. Getting it running 'IS' the main thing...

I did look into RAVE, but every link I started to follow was either dead or had security warnings.

Anyone have a valid, safe link for an internet source? ;-)
