...We looked at a four-door F150 (I know, big truck vs small SUV) with only power options and cloth bucket seats that was $35K!!

Just know when looking at Ford/Chevy/Dodge in that price range you can often knock up to $10K off that price in rebates and dealer discounts.

LR3s aren't much different. I looked at the LR3 for the wife last month. There was $5K dealer cash ($6K for V6), and I had a $1,500 off coupon from LR. Just for reference, that would put an 06 V6 base model, MRSP $38.5K, with a drive out around $30K (possibly lower if the salesperson will take a $500 commission).

"Includes heated front windshield, heated front row seats (two heating levels) and heated windshield washer jets."

How the hell has anyone ever made it through life without these? GAWWD!! Just look at the list of electro-gizmo doodadry! Come on, "Approach & Puddle Lights", WTF. Will that enable us to determine approach angle and puddle depth before hand?:smilelol:

Um, approach and puddle lights are the exterior lights that come on when you hit the unlock on your remote....they have been around for a while and are standard on many vehicles. We have them on our 1999 Ford Explorer Sport. Quite a nice feature actually. And just so you know, your Discos have heated front windshields....I'm betting you use that feature quite a lot, unless you live in the tropics.

Just wait a friggin year. LR3s cost what fully loaded? $50k...$55k?

I was waiting for a wiper motor thingy at LR dealership and just started looking at LR3s. Salesman comes up and is like, hey, like it blah blah blah. I tell him yes, I do, and he was like, would you be trading in your discovery and I was like, fuck no( only i said no with a scowl). Then he was like, oh yeah you offroad... check this one out. It was the fully loaded whatever LR3 with all the goodies, roofrack, extra lights, brushbar etc. said I could get it for $36K. A guy had just traded it in for a RRS. It was this past summer. That was an 05 model that he had owned for 1 year. that's like a $20 drop in price. THe LR2 will drop drastically as well. Especially when ppl DONT buy it.

Good chance I will get rid of my POS RumbleBee this coming summer and buy an LR2 for the wife. Especially if they come close to the claimed fuel milage.
