I found this out tonight... and for the record. On the D2, there is a little bump right on the edge of the yoke at the u-joint on the axle side (As in, the part with the male splines. Line this bump up with the keyway in the female splines. Nothing fits in their obviously, but if you do this, it will slide right back together.

Sorry it sounds retarded. It will make sense once you see the bump and the keyway.

Thanks for the info. even though it went together hard, i think it's settled and sliding normally now. so far so good. no vibes.

I recall that the section go together in a certain phase.. Keep rotating until you get it. That said YMMV... (#1 rule in rebuilding a shaft: don't pull the sections of a shaft apart; #2 rule: mark relative locations of the yoke positions)

Edit: I see a whole body carriage. What's up with that? No total skeleton fab?

Actually.......Hats off. Very nice fab work. you've got more confidence in your welding skills than this guy (I'm afraid the first bump and 1/4 of my welds would snap in half).

Can't wait to see it together...it might give me confidence to start welding sh%t on my own....
SGaynor, u referring to me? Thanks man.
