I have one of the infamous halo half racks for the D2 (possibly D1) and I'm thinking about selling it. Some of you may know the history of thing. I spent an entire evening reading the soap opera like thread about the guy that took pre-orders on these and then skipped town. Interesting stuff.

The thing is great shape and I have all of the original hardware (including the wing nuts for the High Lift jack). I might refinish it before I sell it.

Shipping this would probably be a pain, so I'm thinking of selling it locally but I have no idea what it's worth.

Does anyone know what a fair price for this would be?

shipping wouldn't be a pain. UPS ground will take it no problem. their limit is 120 lbs I think. Just wrap it up good in bubble wrap, cover it totally in tape, and then slap a label on it. probably under $100 to ship it anywhere in the US.

either way, 300-500 seems fair, plus shipping.

FYI, I still have the Ironman 4X4 Instant Awning that I used on Donnie's rack. I sold my 2004 Disco to Donnie couple years ago and the rack went with the truck but I kept the awning for my LR4. I can't quite figure out a way to mount it to my new LR4 rack so I'm going to just sell the awning. It's about a 6' wide X 7.5' long awning and I made brackets to fit it to the back of the rack so that the awning completely covered the cargo area when the cargo door was open. It also has a bright LED strip light permanently mounted up on the tray so that the light is exposed when the rack is unfurled. It's in great shape as I only mounted it to the rack when I was heading out camping and intended to use it. It doesn't even take 5 minutes to mount & unmount it to the rack. The rack and awning are a great combination if you're interested in both.
