I just noticed that there are different radius arm bushings for air-suspension classics vs. coil spring classics. Does anyone know what the difference is? The EAS bushings are more expensive. I'm not sure which to get given that I have coils but still have some of the EAS setup, like external shocks.

I keep having vibration problems. I took off one of the arms and noticed some of the steel in a bushing was bent. Something isn't right with my caster angle either. I went back to a lower lift, attempting to get the DC driveshaft to have a better angle and it's still 6 degrees off at the pinion. It needs to be within 3. Anyways, I'm sticking with stock bushings, just throwing parts at it to fix the vib.

Thats a later model factory bushing. Dap sells the whole kit with bolts for all the bushings for about 150. I wouldnt recommend anything poly. (Been there done that and they suck). When I changed back to rubber I went with the DAP kit. You need a strong press to change them. The early rover bushings didnt have the steel insert in the middle and articulated better but wore out quicker. good luck. gordo

Yeah, I know what I have, Chris installed them actually. They list the other coil spring bushing as being for a D1 as well as coil sprung classics. According to my Rovers North catalog a late model D1 (or any D1) would not have the same bushings as my truck.

Gordon, maybe you should be more explicit... what brand Poly bushes have you used? What color? Not all poly bushes are the same.

Sound to me like you need to correct that pinion angle. My 95 has a 3" RTE lift and DC front shaft. My pinion angle was around 7 degrees and I had vibes. I bought the RTE pinion corrected radius arms (made for a 3" lift) and all is good now.

I also have Poly Blues for the last 2 year now, no problems. I have the ones made by http://www.polybush.co.uk/

I know the pinion angle is messed up but I don't think it should be this bad with this amount of lift. If you had a 3" lift with the pinion 7 degrees off from the DC then I shouldn't be 6 degrees off with a 1.5" lift. I had about a 2.5" lift with over 10 degrees off at the pinion.

Everything I have read says I shouldn't need the corrected arms with this small of a lift. At this point, I'm probably just going to get the arms from Rovertym or Equipe but I wish I could make it work without them.

I was using an elcheapo angle gauge. I said 7 degrees because it was somewhere between 5 and 10.
From what Ive been been reading, when you use a DC front shaft, the pinion angle should be 0 degrees not matter the size of lift.

FWIW I had similar vibes issue with BB 2" springs and the same DC shaft. They werent as noticable but they were still there. I never measured the angle on this setup, but I assume it was not zero.

Holy crap! It sure didn't look like that when I put it in.

Umm, yeah. Well, from what I can tell that happened during their install. Otherwise how would that happen? I mean they haven't seen the light of day since you installed them. I'm not trying to rag on you, I just can't see any other way that would happen.

Yeah. Chad's rear ARB took a crap. He sent it to Bill at GBR for a rebuild. According to Chad, Bill said it had 3 times too much preload set on it. I know my front diff is set up the same as Chad's. It's definitely setup way too tight as well. I'm going to send it off to Bill when I get the chance. So far it hasn't failed but Chad had put a good deal more miles on his than I have.
