Would anyone be willing to post pics on how I could release the child safety lock on my D2? I'm just wondering id that is what is preventing it from opening but, as I've never had it open since buying it, I really don't know how I would do it. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried opening it from the inside while pulling the lock up? It sounds like the spring in the latch could be broken.

Dang thought maybe it was a somewhat easy fix.

I'm referring to my DI, but once when my rear door wouldn't open/close the outside handle was stuck. When closed the handle didn't latch all the way and click but the door shut and latched. I could pull the handle but it didn't unlatch. I had to take a screwdriver and pry the handle forward just a little and it clicked and then I could open the door when pulling the latch but did the same thing next time I shut it. I had to pop the Land Rover emblem off and clean/lube everything in there and it has worked fine since.

I tried with my spanish thinking head to say, that if you look at both rear doors, you will find the same levers. With a wire you can made a tool to move this lever and after this, you will be able to sit inside in front of your cargo or tail door, and try to move its lever below this rubber block that covers it. Hope to be more understandable, haha!
