i recently replaced my rear fog light switch on the dash (95 DI). my old switch would stay depressed to keep the lights on. the new one does not. just springs right back to off position. anyone know why? its obviously something with the spring mechanism not catching...just wondering if anyone else ever dealt with anything similar.

The stock switch on my 1998 Disco is the same as your replacement. The orange light on the switch illuminates when I depress it to show the rear fogs are on. They switch off when I turn off the headlights or the ignition. It's a different feel from the rear windscreen wiper, which stays in an indexed depressed position when it's on. As long as your rear fogs are operating properly and the switch illuminates then you're good.
