Is the rear gate typically stiff to open? I did a search here on this, and got a blank. I have sprayed everything known ( to me ) on the hinges to make it a little easier to open, only to end up witth fair results.

Make sure the door brake at the bottom isn't the resistance.

I've taken stiff hinges and soaked them in a heated bath of synthetic oil before, removing them every two days to move them through the range... gave up after two weeks. Better to get new (good used) hinges. D1 and D2 are the same.

Check the hinges. One of mine went bad, became seized and broke the steel hinge plate in half when I tried to open the door. This was on a DII. I replaced them both with new hinges.

Its probably the hinges themselves. If you remove the door you probably won't be able to move the hinges without the leverage of the door.

while your lubing pop the green oval and hit the handle real good. I have a 33" mud terrain hanging on mine and whiles its like open a closing a vault door, it still lines up and works.
