Well I thought I saw something that used the same bolt pattern as the stock plate for the trailer hitch. The rear cross member is threaded, so it would be nice to re-use that, but if a Dixon-Bate is cleaner and stronger I'd just go with it.

Having a class III hitch is always nice to have in case we need to tow around a little trailer, which we will have for diesel fuel, etc.

Are you talking about the threaded holes underneath the crossmember? If so, the setup John has (and I have) was the Rover Accessories (defunct) mount with the DB. The DB pictured is a 4 bolt model and the class III receiver bolts to only two of the four threaded mounts underneath.

RN sells a plate/receiver combo that bolts to all four underneath.

Only clear problem with the DB is you need to open the rear door to lift the pin if you have the spare on the back which can be an issue depending on where you are stuck.

Forgot to add, the 4 bolt DB matched the standard through-crossmember bolt pattern on the NAS frames.

Garrett, I think we have a box of DB stuff, we just usually just throw them away. I'll check and let you know if you're interested.

Yup, throw everything away. We don't like them up here. I didn't understand when I first got here. But wheeling in the winter and using the DB tow jaw sucks. Just personal opinion though. I'll look at the other shop in the morning and let you know what I find around lunch time.

It doesn't get cold enough here typically, so that potential doesn't exist. We have a few trucks in CT outfitted with them and no issues so far. I have one on one of the DIs here. I think it's been on my truck for 9 years or so.
