Alright, shop has started working on the floor, finally. Going to go ahead and replace all of the panels in the rear. Probably don’t need to, but such is life. The front was bad and a new panel should be in today. May remove the dash which will be replaced anyways and just do the entire panel. Not sure yet.

So a bit of a snag has been hit… the truck was dropped off in early April to have the welding done. It was a simple swap of labor for some clean welding. Communication has been spotty at best, so today I asked what the status was and received a message that the truck needed another 40 hours of work.

I texted the original partner of the business and said that 40 hours was outside of the scope of the deal we made and I was concerned. I received a reply that 20-25 hours had been put into the truck and I would have to pay for it before getting the truck back. I never approved the work.

On Monday I’m going to try and get my truck back, but at this point I’m also concerned to see the state of the truck and really want to see a new shop get off the ground, but not at my expense. More updates to come…

Got the truck back yesterday… I’m going to start collecting parts to just redo the entire back end. Unfortunately the truck may not get as much attention this summer and I’ll jump back in this fall.

Alright, so the truck sat largely abandoned over the last couple of months, but my goal is to have it back on the road by next spring. I need to order the cross members and right wing for the rear floor. Does anyone know the part numbers or have any more info on what exactly is needed? Also planning to replace the body mounts, fuel pump and give it a good cleaning while it’s all apart. Thanks for the help!

Finally got back to the truck, it has sat in the garage for several months. The back seats and driver seat are out. Planning to get the front welded in with a good friend and clean up the fuel tank and replace the lines. Luckily, a lot of the metal looks decent.

Rear floor is about 80% in. @michaels came down this weekend and worked his ass off. Need to clean up the surface rust, install a couple more braces and then a good bit of spot welding. Very excited to get this but done.1D76FECE-4E59-41E5-A1BF-FC3C74BFBD53.jpeg

The back is 90% done. The panel is bolted in at the moment, still removable. I need to drop the tank, give it a good scrub and replace the lines and pump, but it works fine for now. After that, two brackets need to be spot welded on and the the panel needs to be spot welded on.
