Replacing Steering Shaft U-Joints?

Has anyone replaced these on a DII - talked with my dealer and they want a small fortune to replace. What exactly do you need to buy (the whole shaft or the joints)?

And how hard is the replacement? The joints themselves seem to be shot and getting some binding on right hand turns along with some wobble in the steering. Prety sure it will need tie rod ends too and those seem pretty straightforward - but the shaft joints seem like a mystery -

why are you replacing them? are you sure the box is not just needing adjustment?

The joints are worn out they knock around when I turn the wheel and there is a ton of slop in them - it may be the box but I know it is the joints as well and they will have to be replaced regardless. I can visually see they are shot and when you turn the wheel they knock around, the joints themselves are done.

My question was if they are sold separately or the whole shaft etc and how much of a PIA is it to replace them. In terms of "box adjustment" that my be, but my guess is that masks other issues like slop in the tie rods or steering assembly itself.
