Hmm, I’m just hesitant since I haven’t seen any codes.

I’ve never replaced this part, but I’m not the original vehicle owner. I’ve had her about 5 years now.

Would you absolutely recommend the OEM part against this aftermarket part that seems to be a solid replacement?

I would get the brand name of the part that you took out whether its the fuel pump or CPS. At least the one you took out lasted at least 5 years.
Parts from the Middle Kingdom are too inconsistent or junk. False economy.

Thanks everyone, I’ve replaced the CPS (bought OEM Bosch part for $45) and she’s alive again! I had put a new starter in about a year and a half ago so now she really fires up beautifully! Thanks again.

Does anyone know if replacing the CPS could’ve fixed the “misfire” code I’ve been getting? It seems that the check engine light is off after doing this repair. Is there a way they’re connected? I had found low compression in one of the cylinders (5 or 7, can’t remember now, think it was 7) in the past.

Thanks - yeah I think the low compression in one of the cylinders is due to HG, which I hope to have time to deal with later on. Really hoping the misfire was caused by the failing CPS and I can get her smogged now.
