Right, but the odds of encountering a surprise visitor in your home who is actually willing to kill you are extremely tiny.
I agree with this. I have lived in some toughness towns and now live in a nice one. I have never experienced a break in. unless someone breaks in armed, I will use non lethal means. No need to potentially murder an unarmed person.

now, pick one just one of those videos Chris posted and tell me you wouldn’t take pleasure in putting some motherfuckers down? They may be fellow Americans but they are animals. In fact some of the actions I rate lower than Islamic terrorists.

how sick is a human being they laugh while they beat someone on the ground?

beat a woman?

Those videos should be on center stage along side the cop on Floyd’s neck.
Something is completely wrong when we are raising people that can beat someone while laughing. It’s sick.

Am I supposed to engage in a conversation to find out?? F that. You break into my house I am going to assume you intend to do myself and my family harm. Normal people knock or use the doorbell.

Then there's Drew Brees.
The saddest part is all the people condemning him aren't capable of comprehending what he actually said. They're either too stupid or too blind to recognize he agreed with what they're protesting, just disagreed with the manner in which they are doing it. Whatever happened to intelligent conversation and agreeing to disagree, without thinking the other guy is an all out asshole, let alone a racist?
I really wish Brees would call them out for being so dumb, but I know he won't. Nothing I've seen about Brees indicates he is that type of person.

Missed my point.

Most people aren't complete psychopaths, and thus most home invasions are purposefully are done when no one is home.

The odds of encountering a thief are very small. The odds of encountering one who would take pleasure in sticking around and killing you are smaller still.

I agree that in the unlikely event someone is in when you are home, conversation is not the best first recourse.

From blogger Pierre Legrand:

(This list was compiled yesterday. There are surely hundreds if not thousands more out there.)

of course the flip side is how those images are conveyed.

my first response was emotional...blood boiling rage. the reality is those images need conveyed in a manner that would not elicit an emotional response i.e. a race war.

then you have some images where a white guy is waving a red hat obviously antagonizing people, which solidifies "see trump is a racist and so are the trumpers' etc.

however it's done those images need seen on networks, not just social media.

but which major media outlet would not use those images to affirm their agenda????

people mowing down cops in america?? store owners being beat possibly to death by terrorists?? this situation is upsetting but when you see sociopaths laughing while they're beating another human being something has to change.

This kind of goes back to the tread that was all apocalyptic. I made the point to be ready to shoot your neighbors. Others were like "no way, they wouldn't do that". While they may not be your neighbors those vids show how a lot of people are just one step away from doing really horrible things to those around them.

The vid that struck me. They were trying to stop a truck pulling a trailer. Apparently the vid started after he had run over someone. A woman was screaming WTF over and over again. Flabbergasted that someone they were trying to get stopped so they could pull him out of his truck, beat his ass, and steal his shit, had the gall to run over one of them.

I saw that truck and trailer video and wondered what I would do if that was me and my little kids in the truck and we were stopped on the highway by a mob. Would they pull us out? Would they hurt my kids? What would I do if they were pulling other people out ahead of me? If I drove through a crowd in my diesel Ram, how far would I make it before they killed us? It's truly awful to even think about and I'm furious at these BLM people for putting innocents in that very situation.

I think about that every time I see a #blacklivesmatter hashtag from a friend on social media. It burns me up inside.

I care about people--everybody--and I abhor injustice and I want to feel for the black community. But, when I see these videos of innocent victims (black and white) losing their businesses and property, being beaten, etc., I do boil with rage. It brings out a hate that I don't like at all, and it makes it very hard for me to feel any sympathy for those protestors.

You have to wonder what that cop was thinking. This didn't seem to be a case where something happened and the cop just lost it. In the pictures I've seen he seems pretty happy about the whole thing. What he did was punch a ticket to a bunch of years of solitary confinement, unless they have a special prison for cops, because it goes without saying he can't go into the general population.

He was thinking..... If I kill him, worse case, I go to jail. If I don't kill him the thugs that want me to kill him are definitely going to kill me.

I think every major city should defund police and send home all LEO. IMMEDIATELY, right now.

I know what I'd do.

At my last job I, on occasion, had to fire people. Most took it like a man but some would get indignant. I always told those people that by their decisions and actions they were firing themselves. Same here. Any of those people that ended up under my wheels did so because of their actions at that time, not because I'm a bad person.

Is it reasonable to believe that if your are going to break in someones home that they may defend it in an angry manner and possibly be armed
I’d say yes. That is reasonable to believe... considering how uneducated the looters appear I’d not be surprised that some might not expect that.

For perspective:
Random MSN article said:
Asked if he was among the demonstrators peacefully protesting earlier in the day, he dismissed the idea.

“Protesting peacefully? We did that in the '60s. That didn’t get us nowhere.”
Not like the 1964 Civil Rights Act pr the 1965 Voting Rights Act were anything. Not to mention Birmingham Campaign or the Montgomery Bus Boycott. None of those were successful.
