Rovertym Bumper

Hey I ordered a new bumper from Rovertym for my D1 full brush bar "old style". I finally got the time to mount it up to my truck and immediately noticed that something didn't quite look right. The brush bar seemed way too tall and sticks up above the hood. I also noticed it doesn't quite contour to the body and the wings don't roll out all the way to the fender. It seems to me like I have the wrong bumper. I'm looking for some feedback and information to help sort this out. For those guys out here who have the old style brush bar on their Discos how high does you brush go up? And how far from the fender arches do your wings stop?

all of their offerings on the website show a "hump" in the middle if the brush guard

as though the center hoop gets welded first and the sides get welded to the side of the middle hoop, and all of them (Defender included) have this feature on their website

The Defender bumper does not seem to wrap the sides at all, so who knows what you actually got. It seems well made, just a little............ .. um .......... tall?

Lordie Lordie that is the wrong brush guard for sure!

Oh how we miss the days of Steve running RTE! Maybe they need to hire him to get the ship back on course.

I'd call them and let them sort it out. I haven't dealt with the new owners, but dealt with steve and jordan and ben/howard. I never had any big problems but when I did it was taken care of quickly and I came out on the better end.

1) Why don't you contact Rovertym and sort this out.

He did they claim thats how within their specs. They offered to send out another bullbar if he pays shipping, then he has to pay somebody else to cut off the old one weld the new one and re-powdercoat it.

He never mentioned that in this thread.

With those images did RTE confirm it was installed properly? For the sake of RTE I sure hope the owner installed something wrong. Otherwise that is just piss poor.
