Hard to beat the slimline with brushbar that were made in the old dominion. terrain master made a nice looking bumper back in the day. ARB bulky and weak..

Agree. I believe the terrain Master and my old scorpion are pretty similar. Main difference is the scorpion is tapered away from the center. Terrain Master is the same "box" all the way around .

Both are tight for a good approach angle and plenty of tire clearance!

Not a fan of the ARB for the reasons you mentioned.

ARB bulky and weak

Have to disagree on this one.

A older Cadilliac went through a red light and turned in front of me while I was driving my '93LWB with about 3" lift and an ARB bumper. I was going about 45 when I hit him.

Rangie went over his hood and drove the driver front wheel under the seat box - the ARB took most of the hit and bent where it hit the car. The frame where it was attached really bent. Rover totalled, yet, was able to open my door.

So maybe bulky, yet, for sure not weak.

And where I live, there are many deer so having the upper bar protecting the hood is most useful.

I never even thought of putting a D1 bumper on a RRC. It took forever for me to find my non-winch ARB and I still have to clean it up...

I wasn't really sure whether it would work when I was told it was for a D1. But turned out to be perfect!

Some would complain they would rotate during heavy winching. But that was more because of the mounting system I believe.

Same thoughts here. A few years ago, while hanging a right hand turn at a stop sign, some dumb bitch in front of me pulled the "I'm going - oh wait, I'm not." Of course I was looking left and it was clear, so I punched it. I basically put her trunk into her back seat. The ARB had a couple of scratches. I had the insurance company replace it, for safety's sake (and since my old winch was jammed and needed to be replaced), but it was totally fine. The 3 guys from the body shop that had to pull the old one and pick up the new one weren't a big fan though. I think they said it weighed 250 or something.

If the bumper were mounted using the crush cans, it would rotate and fuck up the fenders. And it didn't take really heavy winching.

I stick to ARB these days but I'm usually just going to Lowe's or WalMart....maybe Uwharrie later this year.

The OP bumper isnt too bad, though.
