FYI... A proper locksmith/key cutter (not a 19 year old kid at Lowes/Home Depot) can cut keys to compensate for lock wear due to use and age.
If a new key is cut with a used key as the template, then the new key will reproduce the same wear. When that new key gets used and it is used as the template for another new key to get cut, that new cut key will drift still further from the original true dimensions.
Try using a nail file on the new cut key?
