Anybody use ESR225 to replace the stock downpipe and run without catalytic converters? I know it Is wrong for the environment but this D1 is for non public road use. My farts will likely pollute more.

Looking at that part number, where is the upstream 02 bungs? Those you will need. Might be easier and cheaper to talk a muffler shop into removing the cats on your factory pipe.

You would have to add them. Bungs are cheap and easy to weld on.

Edit: Upstream sensors are critical to proper fueling and would need to be added. Downstream are only for emissions monitoring. They are not needed and you can safely ignore the resulting diagnostic codes.

Baby seals will fall out of trees as you pass underneath making it easier for you to club them.

I tried to purchase that Y pipe in stainless and was going to add aftermarket cats but they would not sell one to me. I had to give them my VIN before they would talk to me about it and shut me down. I even told them that I have emission testing and was going to add cats.

Bummer, wonder if LR Direct or other sellers would have the same issue.

Probably 2 years ago I tried to buy this system for a LWB and called them to make sure it would fit. They required a VIN number and then started that I could not/ they would not sell me that kit. I am sure that the problem is on the US side of things.

Upstream? They are used for fuel trim.
Downstream are only needed to monitor the cats' condition.
I'm not so sure about the rear O2 sensors not being involved in fuel trim adjustments. Prev owner of my truck did some drivetrain work and managed to get the rear O2 sensor connectors switched. As soon as the truck went into closed loop one bank went lean and the other went positive until they maxed out and the truck ran like shit.

While we are talking about it, anyone know what size bung the D1 O2 sensor uses?

You used to be able to get a one piece Y pipe through Land Rover with no cats. I had two of them at one point, but I don't remember the part number. I did have to add o2 sensor bungs.

Huh... I need to re-read the OBD-2 write-up.

Exactly. This was used on my 109 with a 3.9. No cats as registered as 1967 yet had 2 upstream O2 sensors for the 14 CUX. Ran great especially with a manual.
