Perfect if you're 'overlanding'.

But you're paying for that high quality Snow Peak design!!! Yeti is following the model of Snow Peak in terms of selling products with huge margins and minimal quality differences from other known quality brands.

This should just be called the "Yeti effect" - an idea that you are getting superior quality when retail costs are significantly out of line with others.

At this point the owner of the hugely overpriced items has no other recourse but to defend his/her purchase until they die.

I have the Snow Peak lamp; a friend gave it to me as a gift. The lighting is nice but the construction is pretty shitty. It has a silicone globe that's a pain to keep attached to the plastic lamp housing and because it's silicone, the globe also attracts dirt.

They arrived today. A little dim to read by, but certainly bright enough to get around camp.

I do like to biolite stuff, and would buy a stove from them if I had the need.

I have one of these:

The little place where I live is mostly mature trees of all kinds. I use it almost nightly in the summer to cook something. My wife is allergic to the smoke of walnut, pecan, hickory, basically any tree with a compound leaf and makes a nut. With this stove/grill it burns the wood clean enough it doesn't bother her.

I don't get those Biolite stoves. I don't need to charge my phone while cooking. I don't want my phone tied next to a hot device where cooking is often messy and busy. Propane/Butane/blend canister is faster, cheaper, and easier. Even whitegas stoves are probably easier.

Do you still use Woot! ?

Lol, just caught that my woot light was in the background.

Haven't wooted in 3-4 years. Got two good BOCs, then junk. Didn't see good deals like in hte early days, and Amazon, DX and Alibaba Express caught up.

I used the lights in camp for the NorthWestEastSouth Land Rover event. I need extension cables to hang the light on my porch with my break-out box in the tent. I bought two 10ft cables and I'll be good this season.

Barebones uses warm white LEDs. That along with the traditional style and metal construction sold me. Wish they used 18650 or 16340 batteries though instead of proprietary internals.
