Seat of the pants vibration

I've been trying to get the truck ready for a wheeling trip coming up in a few weeks. I rebuilt the rear driveshaft, rotated tires, did an alignment at home. And fixed a rattling noise that turned out to be the dust flange behind the front tcase output flange banging around.

Now driving the truck for the first time, I have a slight vibration in the seat of my pants that is only there when I accelerate. When I lift off the throttle it goes away, and comes back when I get back in it. I pulled the front shaft out to see if the flange on the tcase was loose, but it wasnt and had no play. I tried to see if the driveshaft had any play, and I couldnt tell for sure. It might have had a little play in the dc joint, but couldnt confirm for sure. To be safe I sent it back to Tom Woods for a rebuild. I plan on driving the truck with diff locked to see if its still there.
I still need to replace the motor mounts as I think one of them could be bad. Anything else I can check while I wait for the front shaft to come back? Im running out of time before my trip, and want to make sure I check all possibilities.

Thanks!

Did you have the vibration before shaft repair? Did have the tires balanced?

Is it still there with just the rear DS hooked up?

That can happen if the axle/pinion angle is rotating under load. Maybe check the bushings on the rear axle/links for play.

I reread your post, you sent to Woods to fix. So you installed joints and replaced, did you align or mark the shaft before removal?
I sent the front to Tom woods. The rear I rebuilt myself. I did make sure to put it back exactly how it came off.

I just drove the truck with the diff lock on and the vibration is still there. I can feel it in through the gas pedal and steering wheel. its worse at slower speeds.30-45mph. Im wondering if its the tires as I can feel the bumpiness of the lugs at lower speeds. That and maybe the motor mounts? I put a lot of miles on the truck last summer and fall and realized that I havent rotated the tires in a while.

No vibration before and now it’s there and you rotated tires. tires are suspect. Jack up the front spin the tires by hand to see if tires are out of round.

I have to agree with boxter. The only thing that threw me off was you said it was only during acceleration (under load). But maybe you just weren’t noticing it then.

The tires will definitely feel and sound different right after rotation if it hasn’t been done in a while. That will change after you drive a bit.
