Should I make the change? Adding CDL to 2003 Disco?

Ok, so I am tired of being nipple envy and interested in swamping out my t-case. Lots of questions regarding adding a CDL so I thought I would ask the Discoweb gurus. Some background info - I would have the work done at a local LR dealership and I have a 2003 Disco, 2? lift, and running 265/75/16, for what its worth.
1) The dealership states that I do not need to swap out the entire t-case but they can retro-fit my t-case with an older ?nipple? t-case. Specifically they need the nipple housing, selector fork, and a few other components. I was originally concerned in putting a 3-4 year old t-case in my new Disco but the dealership states most of the ?03 t-case components will remain the same.
2) I heard that this will also add some additional noise to the passenger cabin. Is this true?
3) I haven?t checked into what this does to my warranty. I?m hoping since this is done thru a LR dealership it shouldn?t void my warranty.

Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

my first question would be, have they given you a written estimate as to the cost? or is that not an issue for you? bcause i could see this job ending up being big bucks at the LR dealer.

I'd find out what it does to your warranty. They may try and screw you by saying that the addition of the cdl will lead to wear and tear that is above and beyond the manufacturers intention. adding the cdl and then possibly voiding a large portion of your warranty that will cover the rest of the transfer case, the transmisiion the driveshafts the difs, the axles.. etc....

do the homework on what it does to your warranty you may just wanna wait it out and have it done after the warranty expires. you may feel your lack of cdl may limit you in some regards but its always nice to be sitting pretty with a warranty.

just my2 cents.

Just out of curiosity, how are you planning on shifting it into and out of lock? Are they also installing a shifter or solenoid for you?
