Terry just let him believe that Toyota can’t see software levels and part #s. It’s what he needs to believe and you can’t fix stupid.
I never said Toyota couldn't see I had it tuned, I said the dealership couldn't. What everyone, including some Toyota techs, said was the dealership version of Techstream could only read version number of the file, but can't read the file. Since the tune I used uses the stock file and remaps it the tune will simply show up as a reset. Now, if the engine were to blow resulting in a 15k bill could Toyota request the dealership send them all the pertinent information including ECU and see the tune? Absolutely. So, in a nutshell, if my water pump or alternator fails under warranty will they get replaced, most likely. If the engine or transmission grenades then I may be in trouble. At what level the repairs cross that line IDK.
