Solaros Sae Event - Sept 14-16

The annual Solaros SAE event will be held on September 14-16 in Suches, Georgia. We've secured the use of an entire campground right in the middle of some of the best forest service roads in North Georgia. The Beasley Knob ORV area is only twenty-five minutes away for those who want something a little more challenging.

No - membership isn't required - Pre-registration fees will be $40 for all - $50 if you wait ( I think - we'll finalize that at the next club meeting).

Beasley Knob is about a shade less than an hour from there in a Rover.

The event at the Cove is a week after SOLAROS. I really need to get down to the SOLAROS event but it's just not in the cards for this year. I'm going to plan ahead for next years event.

Im pretty excited to make this event as it will be my first one. Seeing as my rover is still stock, what will I need to bring besides the standard food and camping equipment?

I have some tools and a few recovery straps and shackles. I was thinking about making a fresh batch of home brew for sitting around the fire.

Is there anything that is a must have? CB, fire ext, etc?

both if you have it, I think they operate on FRS band handhelds but not sure I haven't been in a few years.

Bring a good attitude, a jug of water, a couple sammiches, and snacks. Everything else is details/crap you can bum off others.

Too Damned Funny!! just saw this post.

This Solaros pic is of two Florida Boys! the "Mustard" IIa is my buddy Jon and the Coniston D1 on the left is mine... from a few years ago. HA.

I guess we have to come back up this year so you can get an updated shot. Hope to see youz there. I may even have to make the drive up North worthwhile and hit the Conclave event too.
