thats a steal. HGs on these are way easier than the V8s and even if the head is cracked and needs replacing, its still a huge bargain.

And it is a manual for gawd’s sake!

Timing is everything and not on my side for this.

Love seeing a TDI again after owning one in Brasil with our 110. Great engines especially with a manual.

The problem when I see deals like this is knowing I have a spare new 300tdi head and used long block... well, the real problem is no where to put another one.

I spent a ton more converting mine.

With so many Defender owners pulling 300TDIs for LS swaps, parts are becoming much more available and less costly. I purchased an R380 gearbox with only 5000 miles since rebuild from a guy that pulled the whole drivetrain for an LS swap. He had installed the 300tdi and R380 to replace a 4.0 and automatic. He said he just decided to go in another direction. I paid $600 for the R380. Somebody snatched up the 300TDI just before me. However, I bought a running 300tdi from another person that bought it a few years ago planning to swap out his 4.0. He also decided to go the LS route.

Entire 200/300tdi and 5 speed pull outs pop up all the time for less than half the cost they were 10 years ago.

Cummins R2.8 swaps are picking up steam as well resulting in more take outs being available.
