Will a 275/65r18 fit in the spare area on an LR3? I am about to get new tires and wanted to take one of my old ones so I can carry a full size spare.

FWIW: 255/60R19 barely fits (at about half the nominal pressure), and it is more than an inch smaller in diameter. It also hangs down fairly low, and 275 will be even lower.

You can always go this route and get a spare whee swingarm.

It looks slick, but it ain't cheap.

As you ponder this subject, consider also fitment in wheelwells.
If your truck still rocks EAS and it fails, 32" tires may turn your truck in a 6000-lb immobile object that's hard to winch onto the flatbed tow truck.

dude...i've been running the 276/65s for like 4 years. I am not asking about fitment. I have replaced all parts that are subject to failure. I guess I am rolling the dice....oh well.

Let me ponder this.
You have been running these tires for four years, and NOT ONCE checked if they fit in the stock spare location?
Keep going.

Nope, because Land Rover was stupid and put it under the truck and also used a weird 19" wheel and some crappy tire as the factory spare. I will bet my left arm that 99% of all lr3 or lr4 owners out there with larger than stock tires do not have a spare to match.... just sayin'

IIRC, the donut spare is 17". But nonetheless, having a 30" spare with 32" wheels is something I'd try not to do.
Of course, there's more chance of damage with 19" wheels, so I took TWO full-size spares on the trip to Colorado.

Spare on my SE with factory 18" wheels is 19". I don't bother carrying the spare unless I'm going somewhere remote, and if I can't fix the flat then I'll limp along with mismatched tire sizes.

How does that work when you're thousand miles away from home, and not a single store in the state has the tire in stock?
I do know the answer - but only if the rim is not bent or broken.

face it...you are the minority here. And I was right about the 19" spare wheel so there is a point for me! haha

All in good fun folks. I will keep on keeping on and living life!

As part of that weird 1% (who has a full size matching spare) I can tell you that 285/60/18's fit, so 1/2" smaller than what you are looking for-my guess is if you deflated it a bit and removed the heat shields you could probably make it work.

Josh, Peter was trying to help you (see posts 2 and 5). Not being what you wanted to hear doesn't make it bad advice.

you are right Stu. my bad. Its not that it was not the information I wanted, it is just when people respond and assume I am ignorant to my vehicle it pushes my buttons. I guess I should have gone with the old "search" function and avoided this all together! Oh Dweb how I love you.

KO2s should be very easy to find in 18". If not, put the cheapest tire on the 19" spare that'll get me home. If I go somewhere remote with truly rugged terrain I'll invest in a full size spare.
